  • Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the University of New Haven in West Haven, CT.
  • 1995 Xerox CIO Leadership award winner for assisting in the analysis and redesign of the existing Xerox global technical infrastructure. Technologies included: network operating systems and protocols, mail and messaging services, directory naming services, message-oriented middleware and a new World Wide Web infrastructure;
  • Chief architect, project manager and lead developer for a team of 10 which reengineered a formerly paper-based Accounts Payable function into a workflow-managed, digital imaging process using a client/server architecture and object-oriented techniques throughout. The C++-based PICASOÓ suite of applications is currently in full production handling over 50,000 payments per month with a minimum of 25% savings in operating costs. PICASOÓ was an Intel/ComputerWorld RealWare award finalist at a recent NYC DBExpo in recognition of its innovative use of OO technology in support of on-line transaction processing (OLTP);
  • Project initiator, designer and developer of several artificial intelligence (AI) applications including knowledge-based expert systems for automated charge card authorization and real-time pattern recognition & expert technical analysis in the trillion $ global foreign currency market;
  • Technical consultant to senior management on a range of technologies including: World Wide Web application development, object-oriented toolsets, hierarchical storage management architectures, parallel processing hardware, satellite telecommunications and AI;
  • Creator of an R&D group chartered with exploring new information technologies and analyzing technical trends with a special emphasis on their competitive business impacts. Representative deliverables included a platform-independent graphical user interface testbench and a monthly technology analysis for a group of over 300 technical managers and developers;
  • Coordinator of a multi-million $ R&D budget for a major business process reengineering effort;
  • Representative to the press and industry organizations on behalf of the corporation. Typical events have included presentations at the Michael Hammer Forum, London SWIFT banking technology conference, MIT Sloan School, annual UNIX Expo and the International Congress of Informatics Associations in Rio de Janeiro;
